Movie - Children of the Corn 666: Isaac's Return

Hello hello and welcome back to the blogging adventure along the path of Children of the Corn as we review the sixth movie in the series. Does everyone remember that satanic little leader we watched get strung up as a scarecrow in the first movie? Well he is back again (much older of course) and ready to continue the following of the one who stands behind the rose. A woman's daughter (Hannah) is having visions of the town where she is born. She goes back and is re-united with her real mother who she thought was dead. Together they face evil and together help take down Isaac. Unfortunately a twist happens in the plot where she is deceived by someone she thought she could trust. What a good movie. Just as good as the others. I am giving this one a three.

Movie - Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror

Hello again and welcome to the Children of the Corn marathon review. I am your host and I will be reviewing the next addition in the series which is the Fields of Terror (sounds scary doesn't it?) Well so far I have yet to be awed or scared by any of these movies, but that does not mean that the movies are terrible. This was my least favorite movie out of the series thus far. Other than the characters, I wasn't all that fond of the movie. The characters I enjoyed because they were very lively and showed emotion and even some romance which I had yet to see in any of them. The police actually wanted to help with the problem at hand rather than pretending like nothing was going on. At the beginning of the movie, you are following a couple in a convertible who are being followed by another car full of friends. I believe they are travelling to the man in the first car's house but it isn't explained too well. The first car of people end up getting killed and when the second car of people cannot find them, they go in search of them. Soon the children of the corn find them. One of the women in the car finds out her brother is part of the cult and tries to help free him. In the end all she finds is chaos and death. As stated, this was my least favorite story out of them all. I would love to give this movie a two and a half out of five, but as stated before it's too much of a hassel to bust a skull in half so we will settle with a three.

Movie - Children of the Corn IV: The Gathering

Continuing my marathon of Children of the Corn. In this movie, children begin to become ill with a sickness that the doctors and parents cannot figure out. Soon the children become possessed and start killing off the adults and raising their leader. With the help of two determined parents, the invasion is stopped with only a few casualties along the way. This one was about on the same wavelength of the other ones in regards to keeping my interest. I am going to go ahead and give this one another three.

Movie - Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest

Unfortunately I was not able to see the second one and had to skip to the third one. This one is about two brothers who got put into the foster system because the one brother murdered his original foster father. Once the brothers are adopted into a city environment rather than in the country, Eli and Josh try to fit in with the drastic change. While Josh starts fitting in and making friends, Eli starts growing corn and plotting to raise his demonic cult here. People start dying and Josh finally figures out what is going on after losing both foster parents and his best friend. He stops the evil and everything finally goes back to normal. This movie in my opinion was better than the first one only because I love a good monster and this one had a great old school monster. I think my favorite part (this is an older movie) was when the monster grabs Josh's girlfriend, but instead they show the monster grabbing what looks like a Barbie doll dressed as her. That... was great. :) I give this a three out of five though.

Movie - Children of the Corn

This is a classic that I have finally seen for the first time. This movie is about a group of children who are lead by a child minister. Under the minster's control, they kill all of the adults in their town and follow a very evil religion. A couple stumble upon the town on accident and uncover the secret cult in the town and almost lose their lives escaping. Overall this was a pretty good movie. I liked it and I will give it a three. The movie was pretty rowdy and I thought a few times that the couple was not going to make it out.

Movie - Hellraiser: Revelations

So my relationship with Pinhead has come to its bitter end as I have reached the last movie in line here. This was my least favorite out of all of them and I can probably say it's mostly because a different actor portrayed Pinhead. Pinhead is one of those iconic characters that you can't really carry on with a different actor. This movie is about two young boys who go on a trip to Mexico and find much more than they bargained for. The boys go on the run once a hooker gets accidentally killed in a bathroom while they are drunk. A man offers them "a way out" and sells them the cube and you know how it goes from there. This movie was okay, but I was really disappointed in it overall. I am going to give this a three only because I don't think it was bad enough to warrant it a two and I don't want to break a skull in half to give it two and a half which is what it really deserves.

Movie - Hellraiser VIII: Hellworld

Being that I am a big gamer, this was one of my favorite Hellraisers. In this one, a group of online gamers attend an exclusive party that you can only go to if you solve the puzzle in the game online. The party turns sour after the group of gamers starts being picked off one by one by their party host. It was all fun and games until someone got pinned by the man himself. I enjoyed the amount of entertainment that this movie provided. There was really so much going on during the whole movie that you didn't really want to look away for long. The only thing I would have changed about this one is that I wish there was more of Pinhead and his cenobites in this one. This was more or less a "prank" movie since the host of the party was just playing God the whole time rather than Pinhead being the real killer. I will still award this one a four.

Movie - Hellraiser VII: Deader

Here we go with the seventh film. In this one, a reporter tries to find the story behind a group of people called the "Deaders". These people cheat death by using another blood relative of the toy maker to bring them back to life after comitting suicide. The reporter ends up in over her head when she unleashes Pinhead from the box. This was a pretty interesting one and it got really crazy at a few points which I enjoyed. I'll give this one a four as well.

Movie - Hellraiser VI: Hellseeker

Pinhead is back for number six. In this one, Kirsty is back from the original Hellraisers. She has married a man who is not only cheating on her but plotting her murder in order to gain her inheritance money. Kirsty makes a deal with Pinhead that she will deliver him five souls if he leaves her alone. She pays him in full. The story surrounds the husband and the uncovering of his secret life behind her back. The story has a great twist at the end that I did not expect which was great. I gave this one a four out of five.

Movie - Hellraiser V: Inferno

Still going strong with the Hellraiser movies! This one follows a detective who leads a dirty double life where he snorts coke and cheats on his wife with hookers. The detective gets caught up in a third life when he finds the puzzle box and opens it. His life suddenly becomes a repeat of the same day over and over again as he is tortured with his mistakes for eternity. This one was pretty good and you could slowly see the detective losing his mind and wondering if he was comitting the murders or if it really was Pinhead. I give this one a three out of five.

Movie - Hellraiser IV: Bloodline

Continuing my marathoning of Hellraiser here with the fourth installment. This one I will lump score-wise with the third one though I did enjoy learning the history behind the box itself. The story goes into the past to follow the bloodline of the toy maker who originally created the iconic box. As the generations progress, so do the thoughts of the evil world and bigger and better boxes. The toymaker finally disposes of Pinhead once and for all. I give this one a three out of five.

Movie - Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth

The third installment of the Hellraiser series was good, but not as good as the original two. This one potrays a reporter who struggles to capture Pinhead and send him back to where he belongs. Pinhead is back again and is in the real world creating cenobites left and right. After Pinhead slaughtered an entire nightclub of people, the reporter banishes him back to the cube using the memory of his soul before he became Pinhead. The movie was pretty good, just not as good as the first two. I gave this one a three out of five.
