Movie - Mulligans

This movie is about a family of four staying at their summer home with the son's friend Chase from college. Over the summer, Chase admits to the family that he is gay. The father of the family confides in Chase that he is secretly gay as well and they get together when the rest of the family is away. The secret gets out when the mother catches them in the act. The movie is a great coming out story and I really love it because coming out for men is so much harder than women. I give this one a five out of five.

Movie - The Quiet Ones

This movie is about the fight to cure a woman who appears to have a severe mental disorder. The fight is called the experiment and a team of people try their hardest to heal her. In the end, it's not a mental disorder after all but something much more wicked.  We went to see this movie in theaters and to be honest I was a little disappointed in it. The previews kind of portray a different sort of movie than what the movie actually is (such is the deceivement of previews). I will, however, grant this movie a three out of five.

Movie - Ratatouille

This movie is about a rat who aspires to be a great chef who meets the son of his chef hero. During this movie he helps the son (Linguine) gain ownership of his father's restaurant and to redeem the rating of the restaurant. This movie is very cute and you really feel for both parties. I highly enjoyed this movie and will give it a four out of five.

Movie - Curse of Chucky

This movie is the newest addition to the Chucky (Child's Play) series and was released last year. I bought the movie thinking that this was going to be a complete remake of the first movie. This is not a remake, it is just another portion of the story regarding a family that Chucky as a human wanted as his own who used police to get him out of the house ultimately causing him to go into the toy store. The movie was okay, but not really that great. I think they could have gone a lot further with this. The family was a little disjointed already and included a woman who lost her mind, a woman in a wheelchair, a couple with a child in which the wife is cheating on the husband with the nanny, and a child who finds Chucky. The whole movie is just a little too modern for my taste. I enjoyed the old style Chucky movies better. I will give this movie a three out of five.

Movie - Doctor Strange

This movie shows how Doctor Strange obtained his abilities and became the sorcerer supreme. Not having much knowledge of Dr. Strange and his background story, I found this movie very informative. I highly enjoyed the storyline and the journey of a broken man into a better man. I will give this movie a four out of five.

Movie - Hellboy: Sword of Storms

This movie pits Hellboy and his team against an ancient evil that is hidden within a scroll and a sword. Hellboy falls into an alternate universe and fights his way to destroy the evil and free a possessed soul. All in all I really enjoyed this movie. I am a fan of the Hellboy franchise so this was right up my alley. Great movie. Four out of five.

Movie - Iron Man: Rise of Technovore

In this movie Iron Man and the members of SHIELD are faced against a technology monster they have never faced before. This is a pretty good movie. I especially enjoy how the voice of Punisher is Norman Reedus which was unexpected.  I think they did the battle scenes nicely and I am happy to see War Machine in the mix who I don't see as often as I'd like. I'll give this one a three out of five.

Movie - Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher

In this movie, the members of Shield team up with the Punisher and the Avengers in order to stop Leviathan from creating super soldiers. Overall this was a pretty decent film. I am going to give it a three out of five.

Movie - Batman: Year One

This movie is another version (out of many!) of the start of Batman's and Comissioner Gordon's careers together. This one included cat woman, a very criminal side of Bruce Wayne, and a bullied Gordon working against a corrupt police station. Overall pretty good and I enjoyed it a lot. I'll give this one a three out of four.

Tyler: Tyler had some great pieces that really went well together.




George: The looks were great, but the judges thought that they looked too similar to be from rivaling planets.




Rashaad: Team Rashaad made a great couple of pieces which helped him win the competition.
