This movie is an excellent take on a the spread of a zombie infection. The movie portrays the zombie virus as being spread by infected people via sexual intercourse as what could be seen as an STD. Once the main character contracts the virus, you follow her around pretty much just watching her decay and her life fall apart within a few days of getting infected. I just really enjoy seeing the different types of symptoms and the rapid decay of the infected girl. This is really a great take on zombie movies and I highly enjoyed watching this movie a few times in a short period of time. Definitely a five out of five in my book. Check it out, it's on Netflix!

Movie - Contracted

Movie - V/H/S
We happened upon this movie while surfing around on Netflix (isn't that were you find most of the best movies out there?) Well this one was of my favorite kinds of movies (first person horror). This movie is about a group of guys who were paid to retrieve a V/H/S tape from a house. When they entered the house they found a dead man in a chair in front of multiple televisions and a pile of V/H/S tapes. The men watch the tapes at separate times and start disappearing. It's what's on the tapes that really keeps me in my seat :). I will give this movie a whopping four out of five skulls. Awesome movie. Definitely give it a watch.

Movie - Grave Encounters
This movie had great potential. I was told by a friend that this was the scariest movie he had ever seen so obviously I just had to see it! Upon watching this movie I found myself falling asleep and my attention drifting away from the TV. Most of the movie consisted of a team of people wandering around a deserted assylum for hours with nothing happening. The last 20 minutes are where the action was and at that point the movie became interesting and exciting. I think that this movie could have been very great and scary had there been more ghost activity rather than just endless wandering and close up face shots. Sorry folks, this one is getting a two.
Movie - Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones
If you saw my review of Paranormal Activity 4, you read how disappointing and terrible it was. I'm happy to say that this movie has brought back some of the great aspects of the Paranormal Activity franchise. Though not nearly as exciting aas the first three, this movie still kept true to the usual ghostly features that everyone loves. I do like that they brought in the daughter from the second movie because I was always wondering what ended up happening to her. I would have liked to see more on her backstory however. Hopefully the next movie will clear up some questions brought forward from this movie and the fourth one. All in all I thought this was a good jump forward from the fourth movie. I am giving this movie a three out of five. Good movie.
Movie - Hostel III
It would seem that I have been having a bad streak with movies lately and that is the truth. But to be honest, I love crappy horror movies so I don't mind as much. That being said, here we go again with another disappointing movie. Hostel parts one and two were very impressive and scary. Hostel 3 was taken in a completely different direction where there is now an audience who bids on how a victim will be killed rather than whoever pays for the kill just doing it as they'd like in a room alone. Though the idea is interesting and could be awesome if done right, I found that the way they presented the kills was very short and not very interesting. I did not like the boyfriend/ex boyfriend battle at the end and found it kind of stupid. Sorry Hostel, but I think you have lost your touch after the second movie. Three skulls out of five from me.
Movie - Paranormal Activity 4
I am not really sure where this photo for this movie came from but I love it! Unfortunately that's about the only thing I loved about this movie. I am a big fan of the Paranormal Activity movies, but this one just fell so flat and was extremely disappointing. There was not a lot of ghost activity in this movie. The directors took this into a different direction where they focused more on a possessed boy (I think he as possessed?) who was sent to retrieve Hunter who wound up in a foster home. My biggest peave with this movie was the lack of background information. How did Hunter get into that family? Where did Katie get Robby from? Who's child really is Robby? There are just way too many questions asked during this movie and absolutely no resolution of answers to any of them. This was a very poor movie and was more funny than scary. Two skulls out of five. Shame on you Paranormal Activity. You will need to do a lot better than that!
Movie - Grave Encounters 2

This movie is a sequel to the not so great Grave Encounters movie. I must say that the second one was a lot more interesting and exciting than the first one. The movie places you in a situation where you are lead to believe that the first movie was made with real life footage and that there was a cover up of the deaths of the actors and actresses in the movie which I thought was a great approach. There was a lot more ghost activity and storyline in this one which made me enjoy it more than the first one. I still thought this movie was relatively boring and will most likely never watch it again. This movie could have been done much better and I was very disappointed. That's what I get for watching movies based on awesome cover photos. Two out of five skulls unfortunately.
