Movie - Penelope

Photobucket

I had mixed feelings about this movie when I first got it from Netflix. I got it because I had seen previews for it and it had looked like a movie I would like. But once it came, I let it sit around because I wasn't sure if I wanted to see it or not. I decided since I had a free day with nothing to do I would watch it and was not disappointed. This movie is the kind of movie I like full of secret romance and happy endings. As cheesy as that sounds, it is the type of thing I love to see rather than horror films. I would rather go to sleep with a smile on my face than toss in turn having nightmares.

This was a great movie and it gains four stars on my scale.

Band - Billy Talent

Photobucket

My friend has recently introduced me to a new band that has now become my favorite band of all time. This is Billy Talent and they are more into the alternative rock/punk type of music which is exactly the type of music that I love. I suggest that you go check them out because you will absolutely love them.

Some of their songs that you can check out that I enjoy are:
♥ Surrender
♥ Fallen Leaves
♥ Standing In The Rain
♥ Devil In A Midnight Mass
♥ Red Flag
♥ Perfect World

So go check them out... right now!!! They are also very great live.

Movie - The Crow

Photobucket

This is a movie that has been out for a while now and that mostly everyone has seen and talked about but I had never gotten the chance to watch it, so I finally did! I was very impressed with this movie and it turned out being a movie I really enjoyed watching. In a way this was a horror film which portrayed a poor man who had been murdered by a gang of theives who had also killed and raped his fiance. You really start to feel for Eric, the main character, throughout this whole movie because he is full of such pain and heartache for his lost love. All he wants to do is avenge her death and he does just that and can finally rest peacefully. The part I enjoyed most about this movie was the darkness of the crow and how it symbolized death and how it was coming to get you. Another thing I noticed in this movie was the uncanny resemblence between the Joker from the Dark Knight and Eric Draven's make up in this movie. I wonder slightly if maybe the producers of the Dark Knight got the idea of the face make up from The Crow.

All in all I give this movie a four out of five. This was a very enjoyable movie and I would definitely watch it again.

Book - New Moon by Stephenie Meyer

Photobucket

It took me a very long time to get around to this book once I had finished the first one. I saw the first Twilight movie and was very impressed so I got the books. After reading the first book, I was hooked. I finally had time to sit down and read New Moon almost a year later and was not disappointed. Although this book took away from the romance of Edward and Bella and focused more on the romance between Bella and Jacob, it brought out a new kind of story and darkness from within the series. You go from being in a love filled romantic story into a very dark and depressing side of the spectrum and see from Bella's point of view what depression is really about. This book made me eager to keep going page after page just merely to see if Bella's life got any better after Edward had left. I mean I obviously knew that Edward was going to return because there were two more sequels. I was also eager to see if Bella was finally changed into a vampire, which she was not (sorry guys!).

All in all I'd give this book a five out of five for nonstop reading ability. This is the next Harry Potter in the making and is sweeping our nations by surprise!

Video Game - Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core

Photobucket

I never thought this game would stay so true to the original Final Fantasy VII game, but was pleasantly surprised when it followed through exactly, filling in any holes or gaps where I would have been lost and confused in the other game. I enjoyed this game greatly and would definitely play it again. It was worth the money I spent for it and I played for months and months on end building my character and his materia up. There are a few downsides to the game that I did not enjoy though. The missions, although good sidequests and good for leveling things up, were long and tedious and there were far too many of them. It took me longer to beat sixty percent of the missions than it did for me to beat the entire game and in my opinion it should never take that long for side missions. I also didn't like how Zack leveled up because it could be a very long time before he leveled up because he did it at random. You could sit there and kill every bad guy in the game and only level up once and that goes the same for the materia leveling up. I do like how you can make your materia stronger using materia fusion because you could make yourself completely invinsible. The last thing I didn't like was how easy the last boss was. I beat him within two to five minutes without having to heal and that is just way too easy for me. I am aware there is another secret boss you can kill, but the end boss should be just a little more difficult in my opinion and I was disappointed when he was defeated so easily. I could go on and on about this game and how great it was and how much I liked it, but I'll let you find out for yourself.

In the end, I give this game a four and a half out of five stars. Go get this game and check it out because you will not be easily disappointed especially if you are a fan of the original Final Fantasy VII game.

Movie - Peter Pan (The Original)

Photobucket

Believe it or not, I have never seen this movie before (at least I don't think I have). I must say that I am very impressed with this Disney flick. I thought this would be a very boring child's film, but it turns out that I couldn't turn away from it and it kept my attention greatly. I think that they should have left this movie as is and not make any sequels. The sequels ruin the value of the original movie, especially one as old as this one. This is a very valued movie and will be treasured in this generation and the last generation's hearts. It is sad to see the new generation being raised on such crap and not with the classics that we were raised with. I think we should show these movies to all of our children for generations to come so that Disney will never be forgotten for as long as time.

I give this movie a four out of five for sheer beauty and for Disney's creation of another classic.

Movie - Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Photobucket

I for some reason really enjoyed this movie. It shows exactly how a person should feel after a break up and a wonderful journey of a man finally finding himself and becoming the person he always wanted to be. He went from being the shadow behind Sarah Marshall, making the music for her television show to being the man in the starlight creating his own comedy puppet musical. I am very happy for him in the end for finding himself and someone who loves him for him and not because he just does things for her. Sarah Marshall, while a beautiful character and probably a very successful actress, had an ugly heart and selfishly cheated on her boyfriend, breaking his heart. After having her own heart broken, she tries to get her ex boyfriend back, but ends up being rejected, losing him forever.

I give this movie a four out of five stars. I was very happy with it and would definitely buy this and watch it a ton of times. It is exactly my type of movie.
