Movie - Crash

Photobucket

I have to say that this was a very depressing movie indeed. Although I did quite enjoy it, it was very sad. All of these lives intertwined in many ways and this movie proved the theory that we are all connected in some way and that things that we do can affect everyone else's lives around us. The black married couple that faced prejudice because of their race started to face problems within themselves because of it, causing them to lash out at other people and become something that they were not. Both the man and the woman learn a lesson themselves and also teach other people a lesson as well. This leads directly into the life of the character played by Ludacris, teaching him a lesson about being a criminal. Instead of really doing something horribly illegal, he set free to a van full of Chinese slaves rather than selling them. He also learned to take the bus, something which he was always so against. His best friend was leading a horrible life, yet his family still loved him. He had a horrible end, causing a good hearted cop to suffer from a dreadful guilt. The story that really caught my heart, and the cover that is pictured above is the scene where a man's daughter is endowed with an "invinsible cloak" that protects her from anything or so her father said to jump in front of a man who is about to kill him. Thankfully the bullets in his gun were blanks, but the shear feeling in the man's face and his wife's just really stuck with me and I will never forget that scene. This movie has taught me a lot about people and I will probably be pondering life for a week or two and people in it.

I give this movie a three and a half out of five. This was a good movie and I would definitely watch it again, possibly even buy it.

Movie - Mean Girls

Photobucket

The movie was very amusing and actually extremely accurate when it came to how highschool students function in a social environment such as this one. Home schooled kids often find themselves being made into something they don't want to be because they have never been in a proper social situation and go from being completely themselves to something everyone else wants them to be. Tina Fey being in it was a plus too :) It's nice to see Lindsay Lohan before she became a skeleton because she looks good here. I wouldn't buy this movie, but I would watch it again possibly. The plot of the story frustrated me because I don't really enjoy when things go wrong and when people get really upset. I feel Lohan's friend on there with the dark hair was very injusticed when she didn't need to be and that her real friends were very hurt with how she acted. I'm glad it worked out in the end for everyone because I love happy endings.

I give this movie three and a half out of five because I felt that it presented teenagers in a very accurate manner.

Movie - Robin Hood Men in Tights

I was expecting a lot more from this movie, but it was really funny. I had a few laughs out loud and it was very enjoyable to watch. I think I would have enjoyed this movie more in a party situation or around a lot of people. I would definitely watch this movie again because it was very funny. Some of the characters were a little out there though. The movie had its moments and reminded me a lot of Monty Python because it had that sense of humor about it.

I would give this movie a four out of five on the Jess scale.

Movie - Nights at Rodanthe

Photobucket

Although I had heard very good rumors about this movie, I was very disappointed in it. The romantic aspect of it was there and I adored that for sure, but it had a very depressing story and ending. If you watch all of the previews for it and look at all of the ads for it, it advertises an incredibly romantic story full of happiness and passion. But instead I got a horribly depressing movie full of divorce and heartache. I did, however, enjoy the movie in its entirety. If I could change one thing, it would be the ending because being the sap that I am, I do enjoy a great happy ending. I did like how the mother and daughter were finally brought together once the mother fell apart, that is a part I won't forget.

As for a rating, I would give it a three out of five and a decent recommendation. I'd say go ahead and watch it, but don't bother buying it.
